Children Act 1989 or Housing Act 1996 - Who's Responsible?
In this course we consider where statutory responsibilities lie with young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness aged between 16 and 24.
At this age, most have never had any experience or knowledge of the responsibility of being a tenant or may not have the legal right to hold a tenancy and may need a trustee.
The aim of this course is to ensure young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness are aware of and receive the statutory rights they are entitled to, to ensure they are not set up to fail and 'taint' their housing history with future potential landlords.
This course is for those that deal with homelessness and the allocation of accommodation.
This half day course is currently only available in a live format, whether virtually or face to face. A digital form of this course is currently being developed.
