Care Act 2014 or Housing Act 1996 - Who's Responsible?
This course attempts to tackle the ongoing discussions that occur between Local Housing Authorities and their Social Housing Providers and Social Services.
The focus of this training is to ensure that no-one is set up to fail. It deals with capacity generally and the 'capacity to undertake tenant responsibilities' which is a Local Housing Authority's responsibility to determine when a homelessness or housing register application is made.
It also considers the need for safeguarding referrals when someone is struggling to perform their tenant responsibilities, when a referral should be used and where duties lie.
I would argue that this course is for all those working in Social Housing and those working in Social Care, but in particular those on the frontline of homelessness, whether statutory or not, to make sure the right decisions are being made in terms of the type of accommodation a person needs to ensure they are never set up to fail!
This 1 day course is currently only available in a live format, whether virtually or face to face. A digital form of this course is currently being developed.
