Allocation of Social Housing 

Local Housing Authorities have responsibility to provide an Allocations Policy setting out how social housing will be allocated within their area.  This course takes Officers through the different stages that have to be considered, namely:

  • Eligibility
  • Qualification; and
  • Reasonable Preference

It looks at why there isn't a 'national' policy and why it needs to be regularly reviewed.

It also considers where homelessness duties fit into policies, nomination agreements and information sharing.

A must for all those charged with allocation and/or letting social housing.

Delivered over a day, this course is currently only available in a live format, either face to face or virtually although a digital version will hopefully be developed soon.
