Statutory Homelessness
This course, although predominantly geared towards those officers undertaking homeless assessments, I would argue, is for anyone working in social housing with a tenancy enforcement role.
The course take you through the key stages of determining homelessness and the duties that come with that, namely:
- When someone is deemed to be statutorily homeless?
- Who is eligible?
- Prevention/Relief duty? How do they work?
- Temporary Accommodation - to provide or not to provide!
- Priority need and who is the ordinary person when homeless
- Intentionality
- Local connection
- Suitability of accommodation
- Discharge of statutory duty
- Review and Appeal rights
This 2 day course is currently only available in a live format, whether virtually or face to face. A digital form of this course is currently being developed.
